Origin story: Born to a farming family under the name of Aldus in 1412, Crypto spent most of Xyr time helping around the farm. At a young age, he befriended a magician who lived slightly out of the city who frequent the farm of Crypto’s family. Throughout their teen years, xe managed to learn quite a bit of magic. Nothing powerful, but enough to help their family’s farm to thrive. Over time, he became hungry for knowledge and power, and became irritated when their master did not allow them to go to advance too quickly in xyr magic. Soon after his 18th birthday, he was approached by a group of young wizards with a similar mindset- their masters would not allow them to go any further, whereas they wanted to learn more. Ignoring his master’s words, Crypto ran along with them. The group were soon to find an old book, supposedly written by the Devil. Greedy for power, Crypto joined the ritual for Power, which in turn made xem into an immortal demon. The Devil, during the ritual, picked out new names for each wizard. And that is where they got their name. For several centuries, he led out what the Drvil had asked of them. Xe would do anything, xyr powers giving xem a sense of purpose after living an unfulfilled life. Despite his family trying to reach out to them, they ignored them. It wasn’t until his mother died that Crypto realised his mistake. They tried to convince the Devil to revive his mother, but the Devil refused. For a few centuries, they stayed miserable as they watched their family die out, one by one, without them being able to say goodbye. It wasn’t until much later that xe went against the Devil, now becoming an outcast. Since then, he’s been roaming around, trying to find odd jobs as he survives as they come up with a plan to revive their family from the dead.
